The Group's strategic program includes the training of students at all academic levels; the development of postgraduate programs in marine sciences in conjunction with universities; the development of research to strengthen the group's lines of research through projects and research programs; participation in international research networks that allow articulation with related groups in other countries and centers; agreements with national and international institutions that conduct research in marine sciences; interaction with institutions and government officials so that the knowledge produced by the research provides tools for the management and conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems. The main objective of the OCEANICOS Group is to carry out research for the knowledge and management of the Colombian oceanic and coastal zones. The group aims to become a leading research group in Oceanography and Coastal Engineering in the country, with international visibility.
