Functions
This committee will evaluate the proposals or projects that will be carried out within the center of excellence. In addition, the committee will be in charge of the endorsements of the extension proposals that are presented by the Education and national and international relations committees. Once the proposals have been evaluated, it will transfer the research offers, according to the required expertise, to the professors who are part of the center. Likewise, the committee will have complete independence in the evaluation and decision-making on the proposals financed by the center. It will define work policies and strategies and connectivity of the network of experts. It will evaluate the needs, problems and scope and innovation from the scientific point of view. You must coordinate relations with the Ethics Committees of the University to evaluate the ethical implications of the projects.
Functions
Part of the functions of this committee are to coordinate the administrative personnel associated with the computing center in the area of infrastructure (engineers and technicians in charge of supporting the center). Defines the connectivity policies of the Infrastructure Network and the University Campus of all participating venues. Check with the coordinators of the laboratories or computer centers that make up the network of Research Departments about the availability of servers and process execution times. Evaluates the problems, needs and innovation on the subject of Infrastructure. Establish security protocols and codes of conduct for networking.
Functions
It is proposed to document the upcoming needs potentially addressable from the center with the external sector. These needs must arise both from the knowledge of the professors and/or related researchers and from a rigorous study of the market. It will be in charge of defining the modality of services to the external sector: 1) computer services, 2) advanced scientific services that make use of computational capacities. Relationship with peer centers. The establishment of alliances with similar centers is proposed. These alliances will allow a better use of resources, and the channeling and execution of large-scale projects. Coordinate activities with national and international business or business partners. Review the issues associated with intellectual property, patents and technology transfer. It also seeks to establish relationships with the government sector. This in order to formulate and promote projects where the services of the computer center make sense. For this, he designs, evaluates, proposes and executes strategies that connect social problems that can have a great impact when addressed computationally. It strategically seeks to consolidate specific projects with a view to the future sustainability of the center by relating to the productive sector and other actors.
Likewise, it is in charge of designing, evaluating, proposing and executing strategies that connect the knowledge of the Research departments with the educational needs of the members of the Center themselves, as well as of the community outside the University. Coordinates activities with National and International allies of Educational Projects, whether they are training courses in the use of HPC resources, in simulation methods and in programming. He maintains an educational seminar on the type of communication strategy within the network of experts.
