This group conducts fundamental and applied research on economic and social systems using conceptual and analytical tools from physics that are part of Econophysics and Sociophysics. The main theoretical basis is statistical physics applied to systems of actors or agents and complex networks. The group has made applications in wealth distribution, finance, innovation, environment, cognition, music, literature, biology, transportation and opinion formation, among others.
